Thursday, February 12th at 1pm ET
Join board-certified nutrition consultant and cancer survivor Kirstin Nussgruber for an evidence-based webinar on the links between sugar and cancer. This session clarifies latest research on how sugar affects metabolism and cancer progression while debunking common myths like “sugar feeds cancer.”
This webinar will be recorded, but you must REGISTER to receive the recording.
What impact does sugar have on the body’s overall metabolism as well as on cancer risk, growth and progression? The webinar will include the latest peer-reviewed research and evaluate the strength of evidence linking a high intake of sugar to cancer.
We’ll learn biological mechanisms through which a high intake of sugar, especially from refined sources, may contribute to obesity and chronic inflammation – which are both well-researched cancer risk factors.
Learn what factors contribute to an inner terrain that can favor the development of chronic diseases, including cancer, such as:
-
-
-
- insulin resistance
- oxidative stress
- metabolic dysregulation
- changes to the gut biome
-
-
Explore pragmatic dietary strategies, in the form of a case study, that will include clarification on the types of sugars, how to read a nutrition facts label, high-glycemic diets vs whole foods diet, as well as relevant lab markers to proactively assess metabolic health.
