Now in its third revision, the IWMF 2018 booklet explains the basic concepts of immunology and genetics as they pertain to WM.
In the past few years there has been an explosion of research and discoveries in immunology and genetics of special interest to patients with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia (WM) and their caregivers. This newly revised Basic Immunology booklet, which was requested by many curious patients, introduces the interested reader to updates in immunology and genetics and illustrates how these tenets can be applied to the understanding of WM-related aberrations as well as present day treatments, including, Ibrutinib, CAR T-cell therapy and CRISPR-Cas9. The revisions have been made in the English booklet, as well as in the Traditional Chinese, Spanish, and Italian translations. WM France is working on the French version, and it will be available shortly. This booklet is recommended for readers who have a strong background in biology.
