The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) recently increased the amount of assistance available to qualifying US WM patients (you must meet certain income eligibility requirements) to $7,500. The increase was agreed to on the basis of feedback received from many patient organizations, such as the IWMF, that petitioned LLS to consider the higher cost burden on patients caused by novel agents that are being prescribed. Carl Harrington, President of the IWMF, stated “This is a win-win for all WM patients in the US, and shows the importance of having strong patient organizations that are focused on the needs of patients and caregivers, whether financial or otherwise. The LLS is to be commended for their continued commitment to improving the lives of all blood cancer patients and caregivers in the US.”

All WM patients are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity, as it undoubtedly will be of help in managing your medical expenses.

The application process is quick and easy – income eligibility and application details can be found on the LLS website here(link is external).
