
The National Organization for Rare Diseases (NORD) has a financial assistance program that is currently open with funds available to help caregivers (spouse, family member, or significant other) of anyone diagnosed with a rare disorder. Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia is an accepted diagnosis to qualify.
The Respite Program provides financial assistance to enable the caregiver a break to attend a conference, event or simply have an afternoon or evening away from caregiving. Financial assistance will be granted up to $500 annually for those who qualify. Awards may be spread throughout the year or in a single use. What care may be covered? • Registered Nurse (RN) • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) • Home Health Aide (HHA).
