The IWMF is pleased to announce the extension of our research collaboration agreement with LLS (the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) through 2020. As part of this agreement, LLS will increase its funding of IWMF-sponsored research by an additional $125,000, bringing its total support to $625,000.
Dr. Lee Greenberger, the Chief Science Officer of LLS, says “The collaboration between the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and the IWMF represents a significant effort by both organizations to advance new cutting-edge research leading to clinical progress in the treatment of patients with Waldenstrom’s macroglobulinemia. LLS is honored to continue working with the IWMF as we have over the past five years. Our combined effort is having a major impact to control this challenging disease.”
Cal Harrington, President of the IWMF, added, “LLS has been an invaluable partner to the IWMF in our search for a cure, providing not only funding but also vital knowledge. Since 2016, the IWMF has now funded ten Research Roadmap projects totaling nearly $4,000,000. We look forward to continuing our close association with LLS through the Strategic Research Roadmap.”
The next IWMF-LLS Strategic Research Roadmap Summit meeting, which includes the top WM researchers in the world, is scheduled for New York City in May 2019.
