o ensure that the IWMF staff had time to personally prepare for Hurricane Irma, the IWMF Office was closed on Friday, September 8. Prior to the office closing, the IWMF Office Hurricane Preparedness plan was put in place, including the protection of important and sensitive information, and our office systems.

Given the current projected path of Irma, the IWMF Office will remain closed for at least Monday and Tuesday, September 11-12. Our primary concern is for the safety and well-being of our staff, their families, all of the IWMF community, and everyone else in the path of Irma.

If the telephone lines and computers are working, the Office staff will monitor any communications they receive while the Office is closed. Since they all know we are thinking of them, please don’t flood the Office with good wishes. Feel free to use IWMF Connect and Facebook to communicate your support. We don’t know when mail delivery will resume so please be patient about acknowledgments of your donations. We will announce when the Office is able to reopen.

If there is an emergency and you need help with something that you would normally ask of the IWMF Office, please contact me directly at 267-519-8175 or [email protected](link sends e-mail) and I’ll try to get you the help you need.

Please join me in sending your thoughts, prayers, and good wishes to our staff, their families…and everyone facing the impact of Irma.
